Vanagon? Did someone say Vanagon?

There aren’t that many Vanagons I see around but there is that guy with the older Type II. Neat.

Well, if you don’t drive it, it can’t leak.

Apparently my grandfather briefly owned a red one - purchased it to move young calves around his hobby farm . I believe it was the only foreign car he owned in his lifetime, excluding the Dodge Colt (early-mid ‘70s model, not sure exactly).

Nice brochure collection!

I’ve got every year in the US covered as well as special models and some brochures from around the world. There’s even a cool pre-release book in there, the owners manual from my ‘83.5, and a bunch of leftovers from ‘86 or ‘87 from when I worked at a dealership. Just tons of stuff starting in the early ‘80s kept in that case. And this is just the Vanagon stuff, but I will admit that it makes up a majority of my collection.
As I’m cleaning up and organizing the house during these weird times I should create another case with the other brochures. Lots of ‘80s/’90s BMW and Mercedes, Z32 300ZX, Alfa, Porsche 968, Sterling and other things picked up at auto shows. I love these old things, but I fully understand why manufacturers are going to PDFs, but there’s something wonderfully tactile about holding a physical brochure that can tell you a lot about the brand.

I didn't know they were even sold on this continent.
